Creating an Icon to Restart Your Computer Quickly

You can use a slight variation on the same technique to put a fast restart icon on your desktop, too.

Here is how to put an icon on your desktop that restart your machine quickly:

  1. Right-click any empty location on your desktop and then choose New → Shortcut. The Create Shortcut Wizard appears.
  2. In the Type the Location of the Item box, type,

    shutdown -r -t 0
  3. Click next and then finish.
