Installing Windows from an Image
To install Windows from Windows Deployment Services, follow these steps:
- Configure the computer's firmware to boot from the network, and then restart the computer.
- When the computer starts and the boot loader prompts you, press F12 to download and start the Windows Deployment Services client.
- On the Windows Deployment Services page, choose a locale and keyboard layout, and then click Next.
- When prompted to connect to the Windows Deployment Services server, enter the account name and password to use for the connection, and then click OK.
- On the Select The Operating System You Want To Install page, choose an operating system image to install, and then click Next.
- On the Where Do You Want To Install Windows page, choose a partition on which to install Windows, and then click Next. If you want to repartition the disk, click Drive Options (Advanced) before clicking Next. You can then configure the disk partitions.
- Windows Setup will then install Windows. You are prompted for required settings that are not specified in an unattended setup answer file.
