802.11b

The first widely adopted Wi-Fi standard-802.11b-supports data throughput of up to 11 Mbps and a range of up to 300 feet under ideal conditions. The main downside to using 802.11b is, in fact, that it's so popular. The 2.4-GHz frequency is already a crowded place, so you're more likely to run into interference from other wireless devices.
