Saving and Deleting a Macro

When you choose to save a macro to your current workbook, you must also save the workbook in order to keep the macro. When you are ready to save a workbook that contains a macro, you must choose Macro-Enabled Workbook as your workbook type. When the Save As window appears, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Office Button> Save
  2. Choose the folder where you want to save the workbook in the Save In field.
  3. Enter the workbook name in the File Name field.
  4. Choose Excel Macro-Enabled Workbook in the Save as Type field.
  5. Click Save.

Deleting a macro

After learning to use the macro recorder, you'll have experimental and test macros you don't need.

To delete a macro that's not in the Personal Macro Workbook, click the Run Macro button in the Visual Basic toolbar, click the macro name, and click Delete. When asked if you want to delete the macro, click Yes.

If the macro is in the Personal Macro Workbook, you must unhide the Personal Macro Workbook before you can use the Macro dialog box to delete macros.
