Placing Your Equipment

It is important to discuss where to place your equipment, and give you a visual idea of what sort of equipment you can connect to extend the range-and the usefulness-of your wireless network.

Here we consider how to place equipment for simple two-PC wireless networks, where the computers communicate directly together, as well as multi-PC wireless networks that use both wired and wireless hardware to put a networked computer in every room in the house. We'll look at a handful of scenarios that you might run across, and then read recommendations on how to set up equipment in those situations. Also, we'll look at the costs for each setup so you can see what you're getting into.
